Jump The Dark: London Streetwear Worth Watching

Jump The Dark: London Streetwear Worth Watching

I’ve been around decks and on stages for over thirty years and you learn to quickly spot the people who do things properly. They don’t shout about it. Their work does the talking. The Pros and those people who are in it for the right reasons.

 Who is Jump The Dark?

It’s an independent London brand. Streetwear, but built on the same stuff I grew up on: underground culture, music you had to go looking for, and a scene that looks after its own. Heavy tees, hoodies you can actually wear in a British winter, and back prints that are properly big. Not an afterthought on the chest pocket.

And he’s got people in his corner who know the real thing. Farma G, El-B and Skinnyman all back the brand. That doesn’t happen by accident.

I’ve been talking to the man behind it. Good chats, the kind where you realise you both care about the same details the same qualities.

I can’t tell you much yet. But something’s coming, and it involves a few of our slipmats and a lot of his artwork. It’s still early days. Let’s just say the platter’s about to get a lot more interesting.

In the meantime, here are two pieces that tell you where he’s coming from.

Two tees to start with :

London Underground, Heavy Graphic T-Shirt, £24.99
A white tee with the whole back covered in graffiti, hip-hop and city culture. Its a Busy detailed print, all very very London. The sort of print that catches your eye on the first view but then keeps on giving as you keep finding new bits in.

Afterform, Heavy Graphic T-Shirt, £24.99
Black tee. This heavy gothic fractured skull with its hanging jaw andorange halo behind it. Dark, sharp and not trying to be anything it isn’t. Just bold and graphic, exactly what you need from a Tee
