How do I design my own mousemat?

Well, you've come to the right place, just wander over to our page Custom Design Mousepad /Mousemat and begin!
But before you do, here's a few design tips to help you along.
First of all create an image the right size and resolution. The print resolution of out process is a minimum of 300dpi.. but can go as high as 600dpi should your artwork be super detailed. a borrowed image from online will always be a low resolution image ( designed for screen ) and may look fizzy or blurred if enlarged for print.
You should create your image in a CMYK ( for print ) palette in your design software so you can be more confident that the image you see on the screen will line up with the final print.
Make sure the image is the right size, at ModMat we print both round and square mousemats, the resolution should be
Round: approx. 20.2 cm diameter — classic desktop style
Square / Rectangular: approx. 23.5 x 19 cm — extra surface area for mouse movement
Keep that image's orientation in mind when you create it. Some people like to use their mousemats in a portrait configuration ( taller than longer, like a painting of a person ) but on the whole most people use a rectangular mouse pad in the landscape rotation, longer than taller. putting the wrong logo in for the pad usage can make it look weird . So, think about that before designing your artwork.
Always aim for a strong contrast on a mousemat; the surface of a mouse mat is satin or matte. and so subtle colour gradients don't quite work as well. I mean, they do work, no problems really, but stronger contrasts make images more vibrant and appealing.
Anyway, it can be whatever you need it to, let your imagination run wild, but once youve got your artwork, save it as a PDF or a lossless PNG or JPG with very high settings. We can accept most formats and so whatever you send we should be able to work with.
But, now you read all that and your ready to order.. heres that link once again,
