About ModMat
Modmat was born out of three decades of deep roots in music, nightlife, and visual culture. With over 30 years in the club scene, what started as a love affair with vinyl, flyers, and dancefloors evolved into something tangible: custom slipmats made by a DJ, for DJs.
From spinning records at underground parties to supplying slipmats to sound systems, selectors, and some of the Midlands' biggest clubs, the mission has always been the same — keep things real, raw, and rooted in culture. Modmat has grown from a backroom idea to a go-to name for custom slipmats across the UK and beyond.
Why make Slipmats? Isnt it too niche?
I started creating these slipmats / mouse mats and coasters for friends at first, Club nights that I played for, then the clubs themselves, then this lead onto a few private sales and then taking a stall at a local record fair. I'm now selling my slipmats nationwide at Record fairs, where I'm gathering valuable feedback from customers. I've been refining my product to ensure it's ready for the world.
